Then, you are going to perform what you have written in front of the class. 

Finally, we are going to create a book with the different endings that you have created.

6. THE TEMPEST ON TWITTER

ACTIVITY 6: (Group of 10/11 people - Individual) You are going to read the story again, and in this case, you will focus on a single character. While you are reading the story, you are going to take notes, and then you will tell the story from the point of view of this character and from his/her twitter's profile. (Remember 140 characters as maximum)

ACTIVITY 5: (Individual) While you are reading the story, you are going to find some unknown words. Try to understand them by the context and if it does not work, search them in a dictionary and explain them with your own words.

As I have explained, we are going to read The Tempest written by William Shakespeare in 1611. However, we are going to use an adaptation written by Victoria Heward that I have used to create a book in Storybird. It is a useful resource to create stories and it is available for everyone. 4. THE TEMPEST'S CHARACTERS

ACTIVITY 4: (Whole class - Pairs) Before reading the story, we are going to present the characters of The Tempest.



You know the names of the characters and the relationship between them, but what do you know about their personality? Think one or two adjectives for each character. 



3. THE TEMPEST

ACTIVITY 3: (Pairs) We are going to read The Tempest written by William Shakespeare in 1611, but in this case we are going to use an adaptation of this work written by Victoria Heward. Can you imagine the argument of this story from the title and these two lines? Let's try it.

Title: The Tempest

Two first lines: Prospero is the real Duke of Milan, but he does not live in Milan: he lives on a small, lonely island with his beautiful young daughter, Miranda.

You can take into account questions like these ones:
  • Who are the characters?
  • Where does the story take place?
  •  Is it a tragedy or a comedy?

  • “Have more than you show, speak less than you know”, King Lear (1608)
  •   “Look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under it”,  Macbeth (1606)

  •  “To be or not to be”, Hamlet (1605)
  • "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him", Julius Caesar (1599)


  • “It is the east, and Juliet is the sun”, Romeo and Juliet (1597)
